Returning to Base

Well, this little patch of cyberspace has been well under utilised lately but there has been quite a bit of real life activity!

Since my last post I ran the half marathon in Singapore and posted a PW (just under 2 hours) really struggling in the heat. I then started the Half Ironman and got through 2 laps of the bike before pulling the pin with "stomach problems".

Then, spending some time in Melbourne, I had some much better hitouts with some street orienteering and even a mini rogaine for 3 hours out near Ballarat which was a great reminder of how much I enjoy the bush.

Finally I then managed to be in Sydney and ran the Half Marathon there, fading towards the end due to lack of training but posting a 1:45, close to 15 mins faster than the same distance a month earlier! I also caught up with a whole heap of CR and Striders and even participated in the Cheersquad until I got hungry!

But since then, nothing, nada, zero, zilch etc etc....

More non bloggable work "stuff" has really distracted me and sapped any motivation of running (or cycling).

Anyway, the upshot of the whole thing is that we are now moving back to Sydney!!!!!

I (and the family) are so excited about heading "home". Singapore has been a great experience and we have barely scratched the surface of the plans that we had, but it makes sense for many reasons to return to Sydney.

Life will be hectic as we try and bundle up all our worldly goods but once we are back I am really keen to get going again, Six Foot is not that far away!

Probably wont be blogging that much until we get back (hey this is a running blog!) but lots of plans, once we find somewhere to live (our house is leased out) and a school for the kids etc etc.

Good news Dave. I'll be looking out for your girly gaiters next March (probably at the start, unless you start in an earlier wave).

Singapore's loss is our gain. Looking forward to running with (behind) you again.
