First thanks to all for your notes on my last post and especially for Jen following up a little later!
An unbelievable amount of stuff has been going on since my last post. I won't go into gory details about work but I have to say the last 3-4 weeks have been the most trying of my professional career on many fronts.
Thankfully at the start of July I had a week long holiday booked in Phuket with the family and it was perfectly timed given everything. I unwound for a few days and then laced up the runners for my first run since Six Foot, about 4 months ago!
I have also been riding again with ANZA and also doing some swimming. The Fat Bastard stakes see me at 85KG at the moment, quite a stretch from what I was around the GNW time close to 2 years age (75KG!)
Part of the motivation was that I have entered 2 races, mostly to ensure that I scare myself back into fitness! So in around a month I am running a half marathon in Singapore and then in early SeptemberI have signed up for the Singapore Half-Ironman, which they seem to call nowdays 70.3 for a great marketing reason I am sure...
The posts are likely to be intermittent but I'll write up when I can!

No doubt that 70.3 (as part of the IM branding) means they can charge more!
Good to have you back blogging - and running and riding and swimming. Exciting news about the HIM; looking forward to following your journey
HI Dave,
Nice to hear how you are going.
cheers Plu
Good to hear that you're still alive Dave ;)
You can take on Flake in the Fat Bastard stakes.
The Singapore 70.3 sounds like a killer!
There's nothing nice about stressful work situations. I hope that it all resolves in the best possible way for you soon. Regardless, it's good to see that you're still alive and attempting to run. :-)

Hey, just as well I've gotten around to check a couple of blogs! Good to hear you're getting back into things mate - particularly the 70.3!! Will be very keen to see how your training goes.
In fact, I was chatting with the Race Director, Nick Munting over a couple of beers about the Singapore 70.3 back in April and May. He *almost* twisted my arm enough to get me there! Maybe next year :)
best of luck Dave.
