The mind is a wonderful thing. I swear that I was getting all sorts of wierd feelings in my right leg, fearing stress fractures or something like that.
That coupled with some high powered strategic meetings at work conspired to prevent running Tues and Wed. With the much publicised cold snap and fatigue I was not going to climb out of bed this morning either.
So this afternoon I bit the bullet and headed out, half expecting the achilles to snap or something just around the corner. Just down to the weir and back but felt pretty (well very good) and very happy to be out running (I only had 3 days off!!)
11km in 52:52 (avg 4:48 and avg HR 163)
Ice tonight and a more intense session I think for the morning.
Oh and thanks for all the comments, it really does pick up the spirits.

Mind games suck. Good to hear you are back on track Dave, see you Saturday!
Feeling lonely? Hook up with Real Singles now for $4.99 to connect, and only $0.99 a min. A true match is only a phone call away. Give it a try 1-800-211-9293.
And I thought that I got strange comments on my blog! You win....
Thanks for your comments on my blog and for your advice last night. I'll certainly take myself off to the witchdoctor next week. As for Sunday, I will be sensible - and, if necessary, send Mr Jen out for crutches on Sunday afternoon ;-)
Glad to hear that you are back on track. See you Sunday after I finish my first fun run!! J
Glad to hear you had a good run - does make you feel better when that happens. Having just been through a similar experience ie imagining all sorts of horrible injuries and then finding out from the physio its tight hip muscles - I know what its like!
Great to see that you are just a normal paranoid runner. Hope the race on Sunday goes well for you.
Good stuff Dave.
Perhaps the high powered meetings were a higher power's way of forcing rest?
Good luck tomorrow. See you there!
